Tiffani C. Powell
Tiffani Powell is a trained professional dancer and teacher from the Washington D.C. area. After receiving her B.A. in Dance from the University of Maryland, she performed and toured with several modern dance companies throughout the East Coast and around the world. As a company member of CityDance Ensemble (a Modern Repertory Dance Company in Washington D.C.) she had the pleasure of performing with Rasta Thomas (Artistic Director of The Bad Boys of Dance) and travel abroad to Russia, Poland, and Lithuania. Tiffani's choreography and poetry has been presented in Boston, New York, Maryland, Washington D.C., Virginia and California.
In 2010 her Modern dance “Icarus” was chosen by Amy Querin, Director of FresNo Dance COllective, to perform in their debut concert at The Rogue Festival in Fresno. Beyond performance, Tiffani has been an educator of dance for over 15 years, teaching in studios, Universities, and in the public school system from Coast to Coast.
She is trained in Modern (Horton Technique), Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop and Creative Movement. Since relocating to California in 2005, she has been an instructor and guest choreographer at the Sierra Performing Arts Center, The City performing Arts Academy, El Diamante High School, Red Wood High School and Belleview Elementary. Her passion is to inspire those around her with the beauty and artistry of dance.
