I had such a good MOMS Club week last week that I wanted to post about it.
On Monday, Boogie and I had our weekly play group at a MOMS Club member's house. It's fun to see Caleb interact with rascals his age. The whole no-sharing thing is pretty much universal. No toddler wants to share his toys or other kids toys that he's been playing with or looking at or toys that other kids are playing with - HA. Can you say possessive? But he can't help himself...he's 18 months old. Besides the no-sharing it was a lot of fun to hang out, talk, complain and share with the other mommies.
Tuesday was Water Play. One of the MOMS Club members has a pool and we splashed it up! She had a slip n slide, a kiddie pool, water balloons and of course the big pool. (I posted pics last week.) It was the perfect day- not scorching hot- so the kids were able to play without having to dunk themselves under water for survival. Like I said in the previous post, it took Caleb a while to get into it. He's such an observer (he gets that from Michael). I call him The Supervisor. Cuz when he's in new surroundings he stands quietly and takes it all in. But once he's comfortable...it's on like Donkey Kong! Then he's singing and laughing and running after the big kids. He had a blast! And the slip n slide was his favorite although he didn't slip or slide.
Wednesday was election day for MOMS Club members. We got to vote for our 2008-2009 Board. Voting was at a member's house with an awesome backyard equipped with a big play structure, toys galore, a pool, and the kids rooms were open for business! Oh Caleb just loves other kids toys. Especially big boy toys. My highlight was when he pushed around this little tiny babydoll in a stroller....so cute!
Well, not only did we vote but we got to get our rascals fingerprinted & Photo ID!! So cool! So now I've got a document with Caleb's two thumb prints, his address and stats and if I pluck a stran of his hair and tape it to the paper - DNA! Cool huh? There's more! On top of voting and fingerprinting there was a police officer there to check our car seats! All for FREE!! Ahhh I love MOMS Club. And I'm proud to say that I passed the car seat check with flying colors. :-)
Thursday was a day of rest. So Caleb and I went Daddy Day shopping.
Friday night was Moms Night Out! Every month there's a Moms Night Out without the kids. This Friday we had dinner & drinks at La Fiesta Mexican Restaurant in Tulare. Yummy food, yummy drinks, great conversation & way too much laughter. We were so loud! All of us were cracking up about childhood stories, cruise ships, husbands and of course babies. It was my first Moms Night Out and I'm so glad that I went! Thanks Michael ;-)
****Drumroll!!! Guess who is the Membership Vice President? Me that's who!
Yup. I'm on the MOMS Club Board this year and I'm super excited! I think that it's going to be really good for me to be more involved with the club. I've been a member for a year and it's been wonderful. The friendships, the outings, the advice, the fun, the opportunity to share and learn from other Mama's has been so so helpful and enriching not only for me but for Boogie too. We have our first official Board Meeting next Monday, yeah!!!
So here's to MOMS Club! It's gonna be a grreat year!
